Double Page Spread Layout & The Picture

 The image that i selected for the double page spread.

I selected this image out of all the rest for the double page spread as the background of this photograph in particular shows a very bright pink towards the back of the artist creating a hidden glow towards the image. The image is also providing a music prop as the artist is performing, whilst the artist is also staring straight towards the audience which portrays her power and authority as a strong female singer in a more dominant role. This counter types the stereotypical view that society portrays a woman as women are perceived to be submissive and weak, however, this image shows the opposite as a strong and fierce conception of gender is captured. 

The layouts which i was concerning for my double page spread (more towards the first one).

 

      This double page spread from the magazine Wonderland, i found to be rather different to recent magazines I've researched, as the layout of the article really fascinated me for instance the text is placed in different positions than just being straight columns all the way down the page. The headline "Dream Lover" also makes me want to add a similar style towards my article but "Music Lover" or "Aspiring Artist" however, not near the artist but some place towards the bottom or the top of the image to not cover the image. The text style and the composition i want to do a similar style if i can linking to this magazine layout, even if i changed the text positions i want them to overlap slightly. In the article, i would write alot more in reference to this one, as there is alot of gaps seen. Also,the image on the double page spread will be a long shot compared to this medium shot, with a prop for example: a mic stand linking the new artist who's in love with music as it's the beginning of her journey in the industry.

Front Cover Photo Selected and Content Page

Front Cover Photo:

I have chosen this photograph as the model is looking straight towards the audience making her more dominant,similar to the other music magazine front covers I've seen and analysed have had the artists to look directly to the readers which creates a relationship and may make the reader feel special, encouraging them to buy the magazine. As the camera is positioned towards their eyes could give the readers a connection, enticing them to buy it. This photograph compared to the other images I found to be a more appropriate and powerful image whilst looking straight ahead but the way she's positioned captures a really led back vibe whilst also creating a sense of power in her role.
The background of the shoot i decided to use the type of pink which linked to the models hair colour and I've chosen to leave the colour for the front cover background as a colour scheme of my magazine. 

Content Photo Photos:

   I chose this image for my content page as the style and the different perspective of the artist is shown which is a more relaxed concept of the artist showing her true self, whislt through the theory ideal I and ideal partner from Jacques Lacan the audience will find the artist more inspiring through the idea of them wanted to become her or wanting someone like her to be their partners. The other aspect of the artist is that she shows the western ideology of beauty that women with "blonde hair and blue eyes" are more desirable than other women this is shown through the model and even though the eyes of the model isn't visible these characteristics are shown in the model and makes her more desirable for the target audiences whilst, also in that pose which is more revealing of the stomach and a different pose from the front cover image in comparison of pose and eye contact.

The Planning of the Photoshoot

This Photo-shoot that i proceeded to do was for all three of the pages the Front Cover, the Content Page and the Double Page Spread. I decided to take one shoot for all three as i have everything planned for example: the lighting which i wanted to go with the artists hair and the clothing that the artist was wearing. The Front cover photo was different as i wanted a medium shot of the artist but more focusing towards her face and the expression produced which were the first round of photographs I've taken.

The Content page however, was a more sexy and different pose that i wanted the artist to bring out as the image is showing her stomach and of her holding onto her hair. Lastly, for the Double page spread i wanted the whole article to go with the image which had to do with her music and her performing etc. therefore i used a prop which in this case a mic stand to portray her using it and the range of angles holding that stand whilst, looking toards the camera iswell as if engaging towards the target audience.  


Camera 

The cameras which i used to take the photographs were the Canon 700d and the Canon 550d, i used two as the beginning images of my shoot i decided to use the 550d to capture the Front Cover images in the medium shot and the more facial expression based images. After, i then used the 700d as the other camera also didn't show the pink lighting as vibrant as the 700d. The image i took with this camera were the more long shot/medium images that I've been using for my Content page and the Double page spread where the lighting was captured in more brightness and the artists face was more visible. 

In the process of the shoot i tried to seize the whole mic stand within the photograph however, only half of the stand was captured but overall the images, as you can see on the previous post did turn out to be actually as i planned and the outcome of the photographs were at most clear and powerful.



Background

The background of the photoshoot were all positioned infront of the back drop which then captured the pink lights being projected towards the back of the images. Also, in the dark the light transferred towards the back drop applied the brightness aspects to the photographs especially towards the bottom of the photographs and created a more
